Pre-light report
1- I want to keep the available light as main, adding a flash as fill depends the quality of light of the day. I want the portrait light and soft, diffuse.
2- I am going to use a long lens to give more compression to the scene and to have a blur background
3- For the aperture, I want to use F/8 that I found really good for a portrait (focus on the subject)
4- The shutter speed would be at 125/100 I don’t want my subject to be blurred because she is moving.
5- It’s really hard to know if I am going to have enough light for this setting. I am shooting probably under the bridge because it is simpler in the case it’s raining or snowing or too much sun ... And it will depend where the sun is at this time. When we did the pre light test, the sun was not on a side of the bridge, and I am shooting in the same hours, so I think it is going to be okay. It would be preferable to shoot as soon as we can because the light is changing really fast in winter and can be dark around 4 pm.
6- I just need one flash for the fill and I will add reflectors to keep the light even and bright
7- Not too much light ...
8- I need to bring a gel to put on the flash to keep the same color cast. I did the pre light test with a 50mm lens, but I will use a longer lens. It was raining the day of the test, so I did not used my flash, so its going to be harder. I want to use more than one reflector and I need to reserve my equipment as soon as possible.
9- Need a blue gel on my external flash, and will use a grey card.
10- Equipment :
- Long lens
- 1 stand
- 1 external flash
- 1 gel
- 1 umbrella (in case)
- 1 umbrella mount
- 2 reflectors
- 1 cable (in case my Nikon ‘’infrarouge’’ do not work outside)
- 1 light meter
- 1 tripod
- Plastic rain cover for the camera
- Plastic bags to put the equipment on the ground
- Umbrellas for the rain
- Backup batteries for flash and camera
I need a backup idea in case we don’t have the right to shoot under the bridge, I need to find a model available for Sunday and make sure she’s going to wear appropriate clothes for the bad temperature and for the shoot. If she is wearing black, it’s going to me harder and too much monochromatic (with the bridge).
back up : on the green bridge (but closer on the subject)
